How To Achieve a Radiant Glow this Autumn/Winter

As the season changes, so does your skin. As a result, so should your beauty routine. Here we share our best beauty tips and products that will guarantee you healthy glowing skin this winter. Keep reading for 5 simple ways you can keep your skin and makeup looking great.

Highlight after using finishing spray

Do you over-compensate with mattifying products? Mattifying primer, foundation and spray? Sound like you? If yes, then no we are not asking you to stop but an overly matte finish can make your cheek highlighter look cakey and cause pores underneath to show through creating a rash-like texture under highlighter. We suggest using a nourishing finishing spray of your choice that can “melt your makeup” and make it less dry and cakey. Wait for a few seconds for it to semi-dry and then apply your highlighter after. This creates the illusion that your highlighter has melted into your skin and creates a less harsh streaky line effect.

Exfoliate using AHAs

Exfoliating using gentle chemical exfoliants as opposed to harsh scrubs will turn tight and flaking skin into supple moisturised skin. Less abrasive and gentle exfoliants get rid of dull and dry skin caused by the seasonal change and reveal brighter new skin. Gentle exfoliants include low percentage Mandelic acid, lactic acid, and glycolic acid. To start off with- we suggest our faves at the moment- the Nip and Fab sensitive skin pads. Remember to do your research and test of a patch of skin before using on your entire face!

Oil or balm cleansing

Your skin may produce more oil in the winter. This is due to the constant temperature changes that come with the season which cause dry skin. Skin can become oilier as a mechanism to compensate for excess dryness. The skin will overcompensate in sebum or oil production to moisturize itself. So, it is best to keep skin moisturised and not further strip away the skins natural oils. You can achieve this by incorporating gentle nourishing oils into our routines. We suggest introducing oil or balm cleansing to remove makeup and cleanse skin before bed, nourishing oils heal, gently but effectively cleanse, and moisturise skin. We suggest our Soothing Facial Oil Cleanser – created with healing and protective oils to balance your skins oil layer and treat problematic skin. It also contains antioxidants to protect your skin from pollution and chemicals in the atmosphere.

Night creams and moisturisers

A top tip to keep skin moisturised without looking greasy over the course of the day is to use night creams and oils overnight. Not only does this prevent your thick moisturiser/facial oil interfering with or defragmenting your makeup during the day. But it also creates a protective barrier for your skin and allows your skin to soak up the nutrients while you rest. 2 in 1! For a moisturiser we suggest the Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre Nourishing Moisturiser. For a night oil- we recommend our Facial Oil Blend. Created to regenerate, rejuvenate, rebalance and soothe skin. Apply the oil or moisturiser after cleansing and toning, go to sleep and wash your face with a gentle foaming wash in the morning- ready for your daily skin and makeup routine!
